Few subjects are the source, of more distinct division in the world today, than Zionism. While sometimes described as a "movement", Jews have maintained a presence in their land since the days of Moses, and ever since Yahweh assigned the land to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as an everlasting possession, through an everlasting covenant. Christian Zionism is also sometimes described as a "movement", even though Christians anticipated that Jews would be restored to their land through Bible prophecy, centuries before that restoration ever began to take place. Daniel's prophecies of the restoration of their rule over Israel in 1948, and then Jerusalem in 1967, can even be confirmed mathematically right to the year, through two parallel problems that span 2500 years.

The term "Zion" occurs 152 times in the King James Bible.

"Zion is a place name often used as a synonym for Jerusalem.[1][2] The word is first found in Samuel II, 5:7 dating to c.630–540 BCE according to modern scholarship. It commonly referred to a specific mountain near Jerusalem (Mount Zion), on which stood a Jebusite fortress of the same name that was conquered by David and was named the City of David. The term Tzion came to designate the area of Jerusalem where the fortress stood, and later became a metonym for Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem, the city of Jerusalem and generally, the World to Come." - Quoted from a Wikipedia article.

The following from the Jewish Virtual Library: "In 1890, [Nathan] Birnbaum coined the terms “Zionist” and “Zionism,” and, in 1892, “Political Zionism.” In 1893, he published a brochure entitled Die Nationale Wiedergeburt des Juedischen Volkes in seinem Lande als Mittel zur Loesung der Judenfrage (“The National Rebirth of the Jewish People in its Homeland as a Means of Solving the Jewish Question”), in which he expounded ideas similar to those that Herzl was to promote subsequently."

From the Jewish Virtual Library regarding what the term Zionism represents:
"The national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel.  Has come to include the development of the State of Israel and the protection of the Jewish nation in Israel.
Zionism avocated, from inception, tangible as well as spiritual aims. Jews of all persuasions - left and right, religious and secular - joined to form the Zionist movement and worked together toward these goals. Disagreements led to rifts, but ultimately, the common goal of a Jewish state in its ancient homeland was attained."

A couple of quotes from the Jewish Virtual Library at this link:
YIGAL ALLON (Israeli General) "Zionism is the modern expression of the ancient Jewish heritage. Zionism is the national liberation movement of a people exiled from its historic homeland and dispersed among the nations of the world. Zionism is the redemption of an ancient nation from a tragic lot and the redemption of a land neglected for centuries. Zionism is the revival of an ancient language and culture, in which the vision of a universal peace has been a central theme. Zionism is the embodiment of a unique pioneering spirit, of the dignity of labor, and of enduring human values. Zionism is creating a society, however, imperfect it may still be, which tries to implement the highest ideal of democracy — political, social and cultural — for all the inhabitants of Israel, irrespective of religious belief, race or sex. Zionism is, in sum, the constant and unrelenting effort to realize the national and universal vision of the prophets of Israel." Speech to UN General Assembly, 1975

ALBERT EINSTEIN (Physics Nobel Prize Laureate) "Long before the emergence of Hitler I made the cause of Zionism mine because through it I saw a means of correcting a flagrant wrong ... The Jewish people alone has for centuries been in the anomalous position of being victimized and hounded as a people, though bereft of all the rights and protections which even the smallest people normally has ... Zionism offered the means of ending this discrimination. Through the return to the land to which they were bound by close historic ties ... Jews sought to abolish their pariah status among peoples ... Can Jewish need, no matter how acute, be met without the infringement of the vital rights of others? My answer is in the affirmative. One of the most extraordinary features of the Jewish rebuilding of Palestine is that the influx of Jewish pioneers has resulted not in the displacement and impoverishment of the local Arab population, but in its phenomenal increase and greater prosperity." Letter to Jawaharlal Nehru (Prime Minister of India), 1947

Genesis 12:2-3 And I will make of thee [Abram] a great nation, [Israel] and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Let's compare the "People of the Book" as Muslims refer to Jews, to Muhammad's followers, in terms of Nobel Prizes, to get a little better understanding of how Jews have indeed been a blessing on "all families of the earth" while Muhammad's true followers have, on average, been the exact opposite.

The Global Islamic population is approximately 1.5 billion, or about 25% of the world's population.  They have received the following Nobel Prizes:

Literature:
1988 - Najib Mahfooz

Peace:
1978 - Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat
1994 - Yaser Arafat:
1999 - Ahmed Zewai

Economics: (zero)

Physics: (zero)

Medicine:
1960 - Peter Brian Medawar

Chemistry:
1999 - Ahmed Hassan Zewail

TOTAL 6 (with half of them for so-called "peace" even including one awarded to the Islamist terrorist Yasar Arafat!)

The Global Jewish population is approximately 14,000,000 or about 2/10 of 1% of the world's population, yet they compose 22% of all individual recipients of Nobel Prizes worldwide, between 1901 and 2009 including:

From Wikipedia: "Science and technology in Israel is one of the country's most developed sectors. The percentage of Israelis engaged in scientific and technological inquiry, and the amount spent on research and development (R&D) in relation to gross domestic product (GDP), is amongst the highest in the world.[44] Israel ranks fourth in the world in scientific activity, as measured by the number of scientific publications per million citizens. Israel's percentage of the total number of scientific articles published worldwide is almost 10 times higher than its percentage of the world's population.[45]

Israeli scientists have contributed to the advancement of agriculture, computer sciences, electronics, genetics, medicine, optics, solar energy and various fields of engineering. Israel is home to major players in the high-tech industry and has one of the world's most technologically-literate populations.[46] In 1998, Tel Aviv was named by Newsweek as one of the ten most technologically-influential cities in the world.[47]"

There are only two sides in conflict. That of the freedom, liberty and right to self-determination offered by the democracy of the Israeli Jewish State VS the promise of just another Middle East, totalitarian, oppressive, sharia law ruled, little girl circumcising, multiple wife and concubine beating, Christian and Jew beheading, "apostate" murdering, Islamic slave state.

It's no wonder that:  ".....a poll of 507 Arab-Israelis conducted by the Israeli Democracy Institute in 2007 found that 75 percent profess support for Israel's status as a Jewish and democratic state which guarantees equal rights for minorities. Israeli Arab support for a constitution in general was 88 percent.[31]" from a Wikipedia article

The devastating and desolating result of Islamization can be just as easily observed in Islamic countries today, as Sir Winston Churchill discerned over a century  ago when Zionism was in it's infancy. "The River War" Vol. II, pp. 248-50, London; Longman, Green & Co., 1899:

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live… The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities…but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa…and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”

Stunningly prophetic words as we see what is happening in the wake of the secularization, of what is today a "post-Christian" Europe, since that was written. When the things of the Spirit of God are removed, the vacuum that results will always be filled with something, as witnessed through the historical genocide of communist and Islamic examples, because neither ideology can stand the light of truth.

The freedom, liberty and right to self-determination of the democracy of the Israeli Jewish State protects their citizens rights to exercise the free will that the Lord gives us, while respecting our neighbor's right to do the same. It's up to the individual to choose.

From Wikipedia: "Tel Aviv is an economic hub, home to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, corporate offices and research and development centers.[9] It is the country's financial capital and a major performing arts and business center.[10] Tel Aviv has the second-largest economy in the Middle East after Dubai, and is the 31st most expensive city in the world.[11] With 2.5 million international visitors annually, Tel Aviv is the fifth-most-visited city in the Middle East & Africa.[12][13] It is known as "the city that never sleeps" and a "party capital" due to its thriving nightlife, young atmosphere and famous 24-hour culture.[14][15]"

Compared to Saudi religious police showing up at one's door to inquire as to why the individual skipped out on their morning prayers - or worse:

AP - December 06, 2006 MOGADISHU, Somalia - "Residents of a southern Somalia town who do not pray five times a day will be beheaded, an Islamic courts official said Wednesday, adding the edict will be implemented in three days."
